In conlanger jargon, a natlang (a contraction of "natural language") refers to an actual human language, which exists or existed in the past, in opposition to conlangs, languages created intentionally by conlangers. More specifically, natlangs are those languages which have evolved naturally due to the gradual influence by numerous speakers rather than being deliberately crafted.

For many conlangers, one of the main goals of a conlang project is a sense of naturalism, the impression that a constructed language could reasonably appear naturally under different circumstances. Some conlangs are even designed as fictional members of natlang families, drawing entirely on real languages.
